Principal

The principal is responsible for the full implementation of the Saint John Bosco Academy program of education (Integral Formation); and the evangelization of the school community (students, faculty, and families).

The principal is also responsible for building a strong faculty, one that is capable of and committed to integrally forming their students and achieving academic excellence.  He/she is responsible for recruiting, professional development and day-to-day management of the faculty.

The principal is responsible for reinforcing the mystique and unity of an authentic Catholic school according to the Roman Catholic Church and the Diocese of Boise, Idaho which is centered on Christ.

The principal must carry out his/her responsibilities with the awareness that he/she is above all an apostle of Christ.  His/her life, witness of faith and his/her professional dedication should serve as an example of the seriousness by which he/she views the mission entrusted to him/her.  He/she should at all times model the characteristics of an effective Christian leader.

QUALIFICATIONS

The principal should ideally meet the following qualifications:

University degree, with postgraduate studies minimum of five years’ teaching experience

Minimum of three years’ experience in administration of some sort (preferably in school administration)
Significant experience with the formation of children and youth
Experience with curriculum development
Demonstrated management and organizational skills
Great leadership, team building and staff management capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent social qualities, with a discreet, firm and kind character
A rich level of culture
Practicing Catholic with an excellent moral reputation and apostolic zeal for working for the Church
