12 Napcis Member Schools Receive Honor Roll Status

The Cardinal Newman Society’s new 2018 Catholic Education Honor Roll program has, to date, recognized 12 NAPCIS member schools as Honor Roll schools out of a total of 36 schools. The program significantly revamped its criteria for recognition after the 2014 administration to focus more closely on Catholic identity as gleaned from Church documents on Catholic education. The new application is divided into three Stages with applicants agreeing to follow the Principles of Catholic Identity in Education as a pre-requisite for moving on to Stage One. Administrators must be practicing Catholics, the school must offer theology classes each year and operate as a “brick and mortar” school for three or more years before applying. Stage one is school demographics and Stage two, the longest part of the application, asks significant questions about the school’s program offerings and curriculum specifically focusing on how the school chooses to, and displays, their integrity as a Catholic institution. The program is now accepting applications from both elementary and secondary schools. Recognition is on a rolling basis and schools have one year to complete the application from start to finish. All NAPCIS Member Schools are encouraged to apply. NAPCIS Member Schools receiving recognition to date are:

  • St. Augustine Academy, CA
  • Mount Royal Academy, NH
  • St. Joseph’s Catholic School, SC
  • John Paul the Great, LA
  • Holy Family Academy, NH
  • Ville De Maria Academy, AZ
