Head of School

Koinonia Academy (KA), a private Catholic PreK – 12 school in central New Jersey, is seeking a Head of School. The primary responsibility of the Head of School is to lead KA in carrying out its mission “to inspire courageous lives of personal holiness, virtue, and wisdom through authentic Catholic education.”

Founded in 1984 by The People of Hope, a Catholic Charismatic Covenant Community, KA follows a Catholic Classical Liberal Arts curriculum, finding that this approach supports its academic philosophy of educating the whole person while looking to God as the source of all goodness, truth, and beauty.

The Head of School is supported by a strong, effective Leadership Team that includes the Director of Admissions and Enrollment, Director of Spiritual and Campus Life, Curriculum Coordinator, Office Manager, Teacher Representative to the board of trustees, and Lead Teachers. The Head of School directs the Leadership Team – recognizing and utilizing their gifts and working together with them to run the school.

KA is located on a beautiful eleven-acre campus in the historic section of Plainfield, New Jersey. The school’s enrollment has been growing steadily and now approaches 300 students, with waiting lists for nearly all grades. KA families come from throughout the surrounding area looking for a school that supports them in raising children for Heaven. To help better serve the growing student body, KA will be breaking ground on a new 11,000 square foot building in 2023.

The Head of School should be a Catholic in good standing, with an understanding, respect, and support for Catholic Church teaching. Candidates for the position should understand the classical model of education and have experience with leadership in an education setting.
