Preschool Assistant Teacher Purpose:
The Preschool Assistant, under the general supervision of the Headmaster, supports the preschool teacher in implementing the preschool program. The role is focused on nurturing joy and a love of truth, goodness, and beauty in young students, while assisting in developing their academic and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Preschool Teacher in facilitating students’ academic and interpersonal growth by implementing Holy Angels Academy’s methods and curriculum.
Support Holy Angels Academy’s mission of providing a faithful and well-rounded Catholic education.
Assist in the execution of weekly lesson plans for students.
Foster a positive, prayerful classroom environment centered around virtue and respect.
Aid in employing various teaching techniques to meet the needs of all students.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Administration.
Qualifications:
Fidelity to the Church: Must be passionately Catholic and in full communion with the Magisterium of the Church and the mission of Holy Angels Academy.
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred, but not required.
Experience: Prior teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
Skills:
Ability to use discretion, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to effectively communicate, both in verbal and written form, with students, faculty/staff, and parents.
